It’s a bug’s life in KS3…

Mrs Clish and her much-loved E2 class have recently acquired some caterpillars which they are growing (much faster than you might think!) into butterflies.

During their time in E2, they will be observed in their progress from caterpillar to chrysalis before being released into the wild as native butterflies. The caterpillars are part of a scientific study of life cycles and have proven to be popular additions to the life cycle of Key Stage 3!

Added to this, the activity meets some of our character education mission –  specifically, encouraging our young people to be curious about the world around them and to develop awareness of ‘whole world concerns’, in this case the concern we all share about species in decline.
