School Opening Arrangements – Current Plans:

Highfields is following government advice and responding to specific contextual circumstances in its response to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic. Highfields is currently aiming to fully re-open in September 2020, having had limited opening since ‘lockdown’ began in March 2020.

In line with NHS advice (in the link above), when school is open we will continue to send home any students who present with the following symptoms:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you’ve started coughing repeatedly

We will update this webpage if anything changes. We will also be sending out updates via text message – it is important school are made aware if you have recently changed your phone number.

Parents/carers with any questions or concerns regarding education can email: school.enquiries@stockport.gov.uk Highfields staff will continue to monitor contact@hip.stockport.sch.uk for any queries and aim to respond within 24 hours.

Parents/carers with any questions or concerns about their child’s health, not related to coronavirus, can contact the School Nurse Advice Line for 0-16 years old – 0161 835 6789, available 9am-5pm.

General Information for Staff

Staff are to use the usual absence reporting protocols in the event of meeting self-isolation criteria, onset of illness or other circumstances which prevent them coming into work – or make them re-available for work.

Staff will be updated regularly by email on the ongoing situation.
